Ukulele has drastically moved to the front in almost every style of music. The Charlotte Floyd Music Studio began holding Ukulele Camps in 2015 as an

encouragement for our vocal students to learn an instrument to sing with. Ukuleles are a quick instrument to learn, especially for those who already have a foundation of music.

WHY TAKE FROM A TEACHER?

Our lessons provide careful instruction in learning correct technique, which is very important in playing the Ukulele. Correct fingering for chord shapes, how to strum with a loose wrist are most important concepts to master. It is very easy to learn basic chords. The true skill of a good Uke player shows up in loose, accented strumming.

There are an abundance of tutorials on YouTube that will be very useful in expanding what you have been taught in our classes. START THE CORRECT WAY WITH A GOOD TEACHER!

DO I NEED TO BUY A UKULELE?

Every student needs his/her own ukulele for the class and for home practice.

Expect to pay $50.00- $150.00 for a good ukulele that stays tuned. As with any instrument, you get what you pay for. Sizes: Soprano, Concert, and Tenor.

Choosing a size is a matter of preference. All are tuned the same. If you are a performer, consider buying a UKE with a pick up.
